Changes currency
The legal currency is Kuna. You can change euros on the island very easily. The change is approximately 7,30 kune.
If you want to avoid changing on the island you can acquire Kuna in your bank and you will probably wait for a few days.Even touht it seems to me that changing in my bank is less convenient. You can change it also in Trieste, it is an idea to think about because it is very beatiful city, you can take a coffee on piazza Unità, visit the center, change some amount in kune, and proceed your trip for Croatia. On the island there are many places where you can change money: the most common is called Mjenjacnica, then there are banks, tourist offices.... for those more informatizated there are bancomates, the same as in Italy and other countries, you just have to insert your card with code and tell it how much money do you want, only one particular think you should think about how much it will cost you (it depends of your bank and the contract you have with it) At the end, you can pay all in euro. Sea fishingForeign and local citizens can fish for sporting and recreational purposes if they have a permit which is obligatory for fishing from the coast or from the boat. Recreational-sport fishing permits daily catch of 5 kg of fish and other sea organisms, wich cannot be sold. Big game fishing
The permit for big game fishing (tuna, swordfish and needlfish) is issued for a fortinight with the fee of 1.000 kuna.
The equipment permetted for fishing includes: - 2 free spool drifts with only one hook each - 2 trolling lines It is allowed to catch only one tuna, swordfish or needlefish per day. The hook size is not limited, but within seven days after fishing the report should be submitted. Health care for the tourist
Tourist can use the health care services in surgeries and hospitals and pay the same amount for them as paid by citizens of Republic of Croatia. Insured persons from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Great Britain need only their passport. Tourist from Slovenia use health care services with their own authenticated health cards. Alongside a passport or identity card, tourist from Germany need Form JU6, from Austria form A/HR3, from Italy IT 7. Tourist from the Netherlands need form YN 111 alongside their passports, and visitors from Belgium need form BY 11.
During summer months, there are special tourist ambulatories in every bigger town. Petrol Stations You can find few petrol stations on the island of Krk. After passing a bridge about 10 km on the left side you will find one(attention to continuous line) otherwise between
the city of Krk and Kornic in Punat direction, there is another one, then you can find another in the center of Krk.The petrol for the boats you can found in the port of Krk. Green cost 6,96 kune per liter (09/07/2004). BibliografyA part of the information brought back in this page has

The Breakfast
If you decide to rent an apartment for your summer vacations on the island, I council you to go every morning to small bakary stores to buy
Krapfen or the bread with jam or the chocolate called pecivo or
kifle.
![]() ![]() The bakery store of Kornic distance approximately 250 meters from our house, has delicious bread and all the mornings we buy fresh and lukewarm products . I have to confess you that we buy more when we go back to Trieste, for its quality and for the particularitity. (Sure an optimal alternative to the offer of our shoping centers). ParkingsThe parkings in the towns you have to pay.The cost is
from 3 to 5 kune per hour depends how much you want to walk.
To Trieste we are used on 1 - 1,2 euro per hour. Taxes
The owner of the house holds an appropriate registry that
periodically introduces the police of the place where are record all
their hosts, also the friends and the relatives have to pay the taxes
that follow:
the stay tax, the last year 2004 I paid it also, approximately 1 euro per person per day. the notification tax it cost 1 euro per person just one time The boat trips
In town of Krk on the evening, you can meet in thet
port, young mens that are proposing trips with boats, they have images of the coast and routes, the cost goes from 30 euro and arrives to
60 euro and depends if you want to have a lunch or dinner on a boat prepared with the fish fished during
the excursion or not. They will sure propose you to go to see the
dolphins. Between several islands of Quarner and in
particular in the zone of Cres and Losinj there is a population of
approximately 150 dolphins of the species Tursiops truncatus, together with a smaller dolphins. Maybe you will be fortune to see them. Unfortunaly all the dolphines are considerated threatened species because of the low number remained.
