Island of Krk Croatia

Island of Krk is the biggest pearl in the necklace of about thousand island of the croatian adriatic coast. It is a pearl that change its beauty of colours in uncontaminated scenery and cristal sea.
The island of Krk has also an airport, where are arriving an international flights too. The island is situated about 30 km from Rijeka, where daily (also a few times a day) are leaving the buses and trains for Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary.
As an example, there are four buses during the day for Trieste (Italy) numerous connections with the continental part of Croatia, good facilities of turistic structures, indented coast, rich of bays, small coves and cristal sea, fascinating scenery and numerous occasions of amusement are the reasons that Krk is one of the most requested and frequented destinations of international tourism.
It is a particular island, world on its own, its unrepeatable pureness and quite and at the same way so easily reachable, with the bridge that starts near town of Kraljevica and connect mainland with the island.
The island of Krk, the biggest island of the Adriatic sea is situated about 120 km from Trieste. Even tough its' north position respect other island of the adriatic coast has very mild and comfortable climate, with the average of about four degree higher respect other islands.
Customs rules of Republic of Croatia are in accordance with standard of EU states. Our currency (euro) can be imported and exported without problems, for croatian currency there is a limit - 2000 kn. Professional equipment and tecnics of high value has to be decleared on the frontier.

To arrive on the island it's necessary to cross bridge of Krk (long 1.309 meters). Cost of toll you can see here on the side. Amounts are in kune (you can pay also in euro).
The change is about 7,30 kune per 1 euro. (1 kuna = 100 lipe).

From Trieste you have to take a direction for Rijeka, you have to cross the border of Pese (Italy/Slovenia) and then continue and cross all Slovenia ( it's enough to go always straight) and you will arrive to border of Pasjak ( Slovenia / Croatia ), than you have to continue for Rijeka. You will find detour on the right side with indication Rijeka, and you will be on the new super road and after a while you will see the sea. You just have to go on and pass through all the galleries till diversion Istok (east) Rijeka where you have to get out (immediately after one of the galleries at the right side), After 200 metrers on the traffic light, turn left. Go straight, and you will find indications for Otok Krk.
